For my personal project I am thinking of shooting infrared portraits. I’ll be combining my interest in portrait and landscape. I am always interested in nature and landscape photography. I’ve been shooting nature ever since I start learning photography. In the past few years I started to do portrait photography, and slowly I forgot about my first love, nature. This project I want to combine two of my favorite interests and take the pictures in a unique and different way. Not long ago I modify my Canon 30D into a digital infrared camera. I get an instant view of the infrared image unlike the old way of purchase infrared film and shoot without knowing if the images have the right exposure or not. This project will push me to go out of my comfort zone and go outside to shoot without any controlled lighting. I would like to push myself as far as possible with this personal project.

I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. I spent 14 years of my life living there. My whole family moved to LA about 15 years ago. I started taking pictures during my senior year in high school. After high school i went to PCC for few years and transferred to Cal State Fullerton. At the time i did not know what i really want to do with my life, and i was not allow to study in any arts field because of my parents. Not knowing what to do with my life, i decided to start working. i worked at BowHaus Inc doing post fine art photo production for about 3 years. During that 3 years i get to meet a lot of photographers and hear a lot of stories about how they become a photographer. That was when i realized what i really want to do with my life, is to become a photographer, to do what i always wanted to do. i quit my job and applied for Art Center, and now i am a 8th term photo student at Art Center College of Design.
